Step into the exciting world of auctioneering.

This three-day Auctioneers Specialised Essentials course will equip you with the knowledge to become a stand-out auctioneer.

You’ll learn how to prepare for and conduct an auction, as well as the ins and outs of auction strategy. How to make an immediate impression, body language and voice control, property descriptions, timing, bid calling and dealing with difficult bidders will all be covered. You’ll also discover what steps you need to take to ensure a compliant auction process and how to deal with any challenging situations that may arise.
What you'll learn
When you successfully complete this course and the underpinning in and out of class assessments, you will gain a Statement of Attainment for one of the units required for your Auctioneers Accreditation under the CPP40307 Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) qualification:
  • CPPDSM4004A  – Conduct auction 
Who should attend?

This course is suitable for:

  • Real estate agents currently working in the real estate industry who want to see what it takes to become an effective auctioneer.
  • Agents currently working as an Accredited Auctioneer who want to refresh their knowledge of practices, procedures and legislative obligations as required for a Real Estate Licence.
  • Those who have recently completed their CPP40307 Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) qualification and are interested in working as an Accredited Auctioneer.
Auctioneers Accreditation

In order to obtain your Auctioneers Accreditation from NSW Fair Trading, you must hold a full Real Estate Licence and complete the following units of competency:

  • CPPDSM4004A – Conduct auction
  • CPPDSM4019A – Prepare for auction and complete sales. This unit is available as part of the [[Property_Sales_Essentials|Property Sales Essentials]] course.

Prior to attending this course, you must:

  • complete a certificate of registration course; and
  • complete the unit CPPDSM4019A – Prepare for auction and complete sales. If you have not already completed this unit as part of your Real Estate Licence, then you may attend two days of the [[Property_Sales_Essentials|Property Sales Essentials]] course to fulfil this requirement. This will come at an additional cost ($300 Members; $370 Non-members).


Assessment activities are provided on a per unit basis. Students should expect to spend 1-3 hours out of class in order to complete each assessment. This time is provided as an indication only, as it will vary from student to student depending on skills and knowledge.

Throughout the duration of Auctioneers Specialised Essentials, and after completion of the course, REINSW expert trainers are available to provide support to students should they require assistance with any part of their learning.

The assessment marking process takes seven weeks from the date an assessment is received by REINSW. This timeframe is made up of five weeks marking time plus two weeks administrative processing. In most instances, results are released inside of this timeframe. Students are welcome to contact REINSW Training after five weeks to verbally gain their assessment result.

Course cancellations and re-enrolment fees

All course cancellations must be in writing. Student substitution may be made at any time prior to course commencement at no cost. Courses are run subject to sufficient numbers. As per the REINSW Student Handbook, students have six (6) months to complete their study, at which time a re-enrolment fee will apply.
