Novice auctioneer final looms

25 June 2018

REINSW President Leanne Pilkington believes the Novice Auctioneers Competition is a breeding ground for auctioneers of the future.

“Some of the best talents in the industry have taken out the award including current chair of the REINSW Auctioneers Chapter, Jesse Davidson of AuctionWORKS and REINSW Board Member Damien Cooley of Cooley Auctions,” she says.

Women winning heats

“The competition has been fierce with 31 novice auctioneers taking part in six heats across the state,” Leanne continues. "And many of the top performers are women."
Former investment banker, Joanne Dai took out first heat in Sydney. The second heat in East Sydney was won by Karen Harvey, who  completed a Master’s Degree in Business, qualified as a real estate agent and studied the auctioneer licence course at REINSW all in the last year.

Real estate trainer Lisa Liberatore won the Castle Hill heat.
