“You don’t have to have a degree to get ahead because to me learning is an art, not a science. I have a law degree but that is not what has propelled my career. It is through taking opportunities and becoming an expert in certain areas and having an external focus to seek out information.
“I believe that what sets high performers apart is that they are agile and they have personal impact which helps them stand out. They deal with noise and clutter very quickly and have a momentum about them.
“They know what is happening in the industry, who the best performers are, the industry trends. The top real estate agents will know about the potential impact of Purple Bricks and other disruptors and that knowledge puts you in a strong position to counter it.”

Lisa added: “The role of women in the workforce has changed and there are more women at a senior level. However can more be done? Absolutely.
“However, I don’t see gender barriers and my own personal barriers have had nothing to do with gender, but experience along the way. There are a lot of women role models who are visible today who help to encourage other women to step into that role.
“Many women doubt themselves, but so do men. I think there is a certain approach and preparedness to take so you don’t doubt yourself and make the wrong decision."
